Originally from Ipoh and now practising in KL, Danson brings focused experience in criminal defence. His journey started as an intern at a personal injury law firm, contributing to the landmark Indira Gandhi case. He then stepped into criminal law, handling cases where the stakes were as high as they get, to matters resolved before they went further.

His early career involved significant High Court matters, from preparing written and oral submissions to handling sensitive drug-related cases. His work has moved cases forward at every stage, with the same level of preparation, regardless of the charge.

After a period in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law, Danson returned to criminal defence and founded Danson Tan Chamber. He believes criminal defence deserved to be done with more focus and less ambiguity.

When he is not in practice, he makes music – a discipline that keeps him grounded outside the demands of practice, a reminder that good judgment does not only come from the law.
